The Denton
Fire Fighters Association in Denton, Texas organized and
became affiliated with the
International
Association of Fire Fighters on November 15, 1957 with a
charter membership of 12 Denton firefighters. Our membership
has now grown to approximately 150 members strong and
continues to grow.
The DFFA
has a long history of being politically involved throughout
the City of Denton and has worked diligently to preserve pay,
safety and working conditions for its members. Over the last
30 years in particular, we have made great strides in the
development of our association and fire department by
effectively communicating and lobbying with our local
government on those issues that effect us.
The
key to true political clout is through community involvement.
Local 1291 is involved in our community in a variety of ways,
including the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Denton Chamber of Commerce, Project Grad
Night for the local high schools, providing fire safety
materials
to local school children during Fire Prevention Month, Blue
Ribbon Youth Fair and Rodeo and
hosting an annual City Council Candidate Forum.
DFFA Mission Statement
The Denton Fire Fighters Association will provide the best
service possible to the Citizens of Denton while ensuring
the safest working conditions, the best compensation and benefits

DFFA Vision Statement
The Denton Fire Fighters Association will work with the City
of Denton to obtain the highest compensation and benefits
packages and to guarantee the safest working conditions through
